We had a bean hut–actually we called it a teepee–when I was a kid, so I can vouch for it being a good idea! I spent many happy hours playing and reading there while eating occasional raw scarlet runner beans, but you can’t eat many of those without getting a tummy ache (they are better cooked) so I’d usually pick a basketful of other veggies and mint on my way there.
