I have written before about my love of my small networking group that I put together. Those women are just so amazing and have blessed my life so much. A problem emerged though — I didn’t really want to leave anyone out. I felt bad that we couldn’t just invite anyone we wanted to join in too. (But, alas, we set a number as our upper limit, and have tried to stick to that.)
It was around this time when I was feeling bad that we couldn’t add more people that one of the women in our group started a discussion where she suggested that we brainstorm ideas for other people in the group. She said that it’s often hard to think of great ideas of things we should do ourselves. Sometimes it’s easier to see the gifts that other people have, than to recognize our own. (Isn’t that a great idea for a small group to do?)
Anyway, she then went on to suggest that, because I did a great job of finding the perfect group of people to form together for our group, that maybe I should offer some type of blogger matchmaking service to help other people find their people. I loved this idea! Then, with help from other people in my group, the idea changed and grew. Another member said that she had brainstormed the same type of idea a few years ago, and then she just sent me all the notes she had jotted down. Seriously. (Can you tell why I love these women?)
I’m excited to share that I have opened sign ups to join this blogging network – Connections Network. It will feature groups that are open to all members to discuss a variety of blogging topics with the larger group. There will also be opportunities to find people to partner with for guest posts, series posts, projects, etc.
In addition, what makes this network particularly special is that there will also be smaller groups of 8 – 12 bloggers that are private groups where you can network with the group that you have been assigned to (in a match maker style, not just randomly).
Membership will cost $29.95 for a year (that’s like spending less than $3/month). However, until June 30, 2011, members can join for just $19.95 (for the first year), so don’t wait! (The first 40 sign ups will receive a free year membership. However, many of these are already gone. A very limited number remain. These are gone now.)
I’m hoping that networking in a private, small group will be as much of a blessing for other people as it has been for me!
