I have written before about how much I enjoy having a private group of bloggers that I network with. It is so wonderful to be able to celebrate successes, come to each other with issues, get tips and ideas, and just generally talk shop with people who get it. Having this group of women has changed blogging for me.
I just had to touch on this, however, yet again today. If you’re a blogger, go out and find your people.
You know — your people. The ones that you can do all of those things with.
The people that you can go to, like I did today, to say, “Hey, you know what? I think I suck. I think my blog sucks and lacks focus. I’m in a writing slump. What do I need to change?”
My people are the kind of people that would have told me exactly what I needed to change, and so I was prepared for that. Instead, the only suggestion for change I got was maybe I needed to be less busy so that my mind would have some time to clear. And, I got a lot of feedback on my blog that made me think of this:
My people reminded me about who I am and what my blog is about. They also reminded me that I don’t need to worry about what other people are doing or how many people are jumping on the super niche blog bandwagon. (Of which, mind you, I’m on too, owning both The Homeschool Classroom and Catholic Mothers Online.)
So, God bless those girls that are my people. They helped put the song back in my heart today.
(On a related side note: I am working to help bloggers find their people. Check out my page about a network to help you form your own network or to find other bloggers to do projects with.)

You are awesome – the complete opposite of sucking.
Hmmmm…perhaps I’m a bit emotional. I almost burst into tears reading your comment. LOL
Thanks for being one of “my people.”
Awww! I’m so glad your people could help. I love your blog and I’m going to say the 1000 readers you have must as well!
xoxo
