We got some good news about Jack from the doctor tonight about his CT scan. The scan showed that the measurements of his aortic valve are the same as what the doctor thought they were from the echocardiogram.  While we would have loved it if the measurements were off for the better, they also could have been off for the worse.  So, we’ll appreciate the blessing for what it is.

We found out that the dilation of the root of the valve is at the upper limits of what is acceptable for his size (like really close to the surgery level, as far as I was concerned when he told me what it was and what the size was that they would have done surgery).  But, again, looking for the blessings, it does mean that while surgery is probably not way off in the future, it’s not right now.

We’ll see the doctor again in six months.  So, we’ll just hope for the best.

I downloaded the Xfinity TV app (from Comcast) for my iPad on Thursday.  Oh my goodness – what a cool app!  It actually knew that I had three digital boxes in my house, but only one that I could use with the app.  (We only have the whole digital package on one of our televisions.  The others we just have a digital converter thingee on.)

So, on that TV, I was able to search out a particular TV show and then click on it on my iPad.  Then, the channel changed on my TV! It was so crazy.  Then again, maybe I’m just easily amused.  My whole family was pretty amused by it, as a matter of fact.  Just seemed crazy to hit something on my iPad and have my TV channel change.

(The Xfinity TV app is free, so if you have Comcast service and also have an iPad or iPod Touch/iPhone, it’s worth a download.)

I was really touched this week that when I sent out an email to my homeschool group to see if people thought there was a desire for me to teach the same co-op class (an art and photography class) that I’m teaching this year.  I said that students could take the class again, because I would do different projects next year.

It meant so much to me when I got several replies from parents of kids who are in the class currently to tell me how much their kids love the class and would love to be able to take it again.

Are you in a homeschool co-op?  Do you teach or assist?  What classes have you done?

I listed some new things in my Etsy shop (Just a Tiny Owl) this week.  One of the new things had to be relisted right away because it sold barely any time after I listed it.  So, that was fun.

Here are some of my new listings:

Okay, one more picture of the felt cookies.  I liked this one:

My Mom got out of the hospital after her heart attacks!  We’re all hoping she can keep herself out of the hospital in the future.

Love you, Mom!

Know what I don’t love though?

Ants.

Two years ago, we had them in our house a couple of times throughout that winter.  It was so troubling.  Well, fast forward to now, and they have showed up again.  Not as many as before, but when I saw a group of about 10 of them together, I had Eric call the exterminator.  Hopefully they’ll be able to get rid of them.

I bought a drawing pad for myself this week.  I have to admit that I have never owned one for myself before. I have always thought of myself as very much not artistic.  But, it seems that the more I work on being creative, the more ideas that pop into my head.  So, I realized that I needed to start sketching out some of these painting ideas, or I would never remember them all.

I have not, of course, put a single thing in it yet.  But, I feel pretty confident that I will.  Someone ask me about it later, okay?

Prayers for everyone’s health and healing. My mom has had several heart attacks, too. I witnessed one – scary! But, great care and prayer did their thing! Hope the same goes for your mom.

This is good news that you didn’t get worse news! I’ll keep your family in my prayers.

Yay to #7!! I actually address this in my blog, if you had time to check it out. When I was an art student, they encouraged us to draw something EVERYDAY, no excuses, no matter how bad or small it was. You could have the first sheet for doodling, drawing one little thing everyday until you feel inspired to draw something on a whole sheet.

Love this idea, Elizabeth! I’ll have to make myself draw in it often. (I haven’t yet, by the way, though.)

I’m so happy to hear that your Mom is home from the hospital and that Jack’s results were good news for now.

I love the felt cookies, so cute! How fun that you teach a co-op class. I’d love to find one for Abby.

We have a fun co-op that includes around 80 kids or so from babies through high school. I spent two years teaching a preschool skills class. Then one of those years, I co-taught a chess class for upper elementary/middle school. Now, I’m with that same age group again, but teaching an art and photography class.

Prayers for your heart and your little one.

I’m glad you got good news with the families whose children loved your art class.

Have a joyful week :)

Wow. You have a lot on your plate. I am glad that the news from your son’s dr. was not in the “worse” direction. Our family will continue to pray for him. Also, for your mom.

When we began our “Barry Stebbing” art lessons this school year, I purchased a drawing pad for myself too. These are basic art lessons, but, before this, I could barely draw a stick figure. I have actually really enjoyed drawing! Today I drew my first face!

I will check out your etsy shop- I don’t have facebook though, so I can’t “like you” officially.
