I have a cleaning tip this week that is short, but sweet clean.

I don’t know if things are going on near you like they are here, but it seems everyone is coughing and has the sniffles. One thing I like to do to try to disinfect things around the house is to use a bleach solution.

A perfect weaker mix that is great for toys and items that might find themslves in children’s mouths is: 1 tablespoon of bleach added to 1 gallon of cool water.

This can be really great for playdates when little Penelope down the street spends the whole time sneezing on your Suzie’s Weeble Wobbles.

For a stronger bleach solution (for use in areas like bathrooms and diaper changing areas), you can add 1/4 cup of bleach to 1 gallon of cool water (or 1 tablespoon of bleach to 1 quart of cool water).

I like to keep a spray bottle of the weaker solution (which I have marked in bold letters BLEACH SOLUTION) all made up and ready to use as needed.

Good luck keeping those germs away this season with this great and frugal alternative to store bought santizers!
