Redecorating a Room Without Paint or New Furniture (WFMW #59)

in WFMW,decorating and improvements,shopping

We have recently done some room redecorating, and we did it without a single gallon of paint or any new furniture. Now, I won’t say that it was cheap, but it was the easiest room redecoration that we’ve ever done.
We had been wanting to have a slightly different look in our bedroom, so we had wanted to get a new comforter for the bed.
Instead, we stumbled into a totally different look for the room by buying (deeply on sale) a “room in a bag” kind of set. It is the one pictured here (from Macy’s website) and it included 24 pieces. Not only did it include tons of things for the bed (which would have given our room a totally different look), but it also included a new set of curtains and valance (also shown in the picture).
This was a great way to quickly change the look and feel of our room. We went from having a tattered comforter to having our bed look like it belongs in a nice hotel. Apparently we’re moving up in the world.
What are your favorite ways to change the look of a room without a ton of work?
