Great gift to buy on clearance for next Christmas

in WFMW,gifts,holidays/birthdays

My Works for Me Wednesday this week is sharing a great idea for something that my Grandparents did for every woman in our family several years ago. It’s a great idea for an inexpensive gift for next year, if you have some room for storage throughout next year.

Each woman in our family (although it would work to give it to an entire family as a gift, if you are not looking to spend too much for a family gift) received an under the bed gift wrap storage container.

Inside, there were several rolls of wrapping paper, an assortment of ribbons and bows, some gift tags, and Scotch tape. Even though we received these gifts probably around 10 years ago, I think all of us are still using that same container. (Honestly — I think I still have one of the rolls of gift wrap that was inside when I received it. I should probably donate that one if I’m never going to use it.)

While I think this would be a great gift to give someone for Christmas this year, it would be even better to give it next year (if you have storage in your home). The reason for that is because you can go out after Christmas and find gift wrap storage containers and all of the gift wrapping goodies on clearance. Then, just stick them away and pull them out for Christmas 2009.

What a unique and useful gift!

Do you have gifts that you received in holidays past that you still use often? What are some of your favorite useful gifts to give?
