These Things Are Like Crack (aka I Finally Found Candy Cane Kisses Again)

in holidays/birthdays

I have been nervously waiting for the Halloween decor to be clearanced out because I knew that would make way for Christmas decorations, and most importantly…Christmas candy.

You see, last year, I picked up these Hershey’s Candy Cane Kisses on a whim. What a mistake! Before Christmas had even come around, everywhere seemed to be out of stock. I literally drove to four different stores one day trying to find more bags of this crack candy these lovely treats.
Yeah…you heard me. There I was, driving from store to store for candy.
I will say though that I was victorious and bought seven bags of candy cane kisses (the last that they had at the only place I found them).
I think they were gone by January. (In my defense, Eric also *loves* them, as does Molly.)
So, I’ve been waiting around for about 10 months for the Christmas candy. This weekend, while I was in Michigan on a trip, I stopped in a Walgreens to pick up some snacks and there they were!
Now, sure, it doesn’t sound like I have room to complain. But, I will. I think there is less in the bags than there used to be. Seriously — I think *all* of the kisses bags were smaller than I remember, but for the same price. Snap!
Apparently I was not too put out by it though. At least they were on sale. The bag was $2.99 for one bag, or $2.50 if you bought at least two.
I wanted to be on the safe side, so I bought seven. You know — be prepared. That’s what they taught me in the Girl Scouts.
Now, if you haven’t tried these horribly addicting candies, go buy some. You’ll love them.
Are there any special seasonal (any season) candies or treats that you just can’t get enough of?
(Of course, this also makes me think of the Russell Stover chocolate coconut birds nests with jelly beans in them at Easter time that were NO WHERE to be found this year. What in the world is up with that??? Boo!)
