Yeah. We did. We did a coat of primer and a coat of paint about six weeks after the porch was finished.
On the outside.
And, up until this weekend (which is more than four months after the porch was finished), we were still staring at an unpainted inside.
Believe me — we had to keep reminding ourselves how much money we had probably saved by painting this horrible, all trim screened in porch ourselves — particularly with each part (outside / inside) needing to have both a coat of primer and a coat of paint.
We figured that it was a sign that it was time to do it before winter when the weather recently changed from seeing our breath while running out for the mail to wearing shorts and t-shirts.
And, so, let me present our tackle (which took about 6 – 7 hours total, between two days):
Before (although this picture was taken when it was still summer time!):

After (I forgot to take the picture until it was already dark!):

I just wish that this project was actually done, considering that we’ve now probably put about 13 – 15 hours into painting it. Sadly — we skipped painting the door, since we’re going to replace it. (I think the builders put on the cheapest door possible.) And, then we still need to put up a ceiling (it’s just rafters or whatever right now, which a roof, of course), which we’ll also have to paint.
So — expect some of those nasty jobs to be tackles for next spring. I’m already dreading it looking forward to it.
