I tried something new that varied from my original fried green tomatoes tutorial the other night, and I had to share it.
We skipped the flour step, only salting the tomatoes while they were still sitting on the cutting board. Then, for the egg wash, we actually put in less eggs, but added milk. And, for the final step — the corn meal — we used Jiffy Cornbread Muffin Mix instead.
Oh goodness gracious! That was tasty! That will be my new way to make them for sure!
