Three year old
Molly often loudly demands pesters requests that we say a Hail Mary (or rather a “Holy Mary” as she calls it) after we have already prayed before meals.
To appease her, we will often do just that then. And really — what harm is there in saying a Hail Mary, right?
Tonight, just her and I said it, and I kept stopping before the last word or so, and waited for her to fill it in. She was really doing a great job. And, then I said,
Pray for us…
dinners
Now, and at the hour of our…
desks. Amen. In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Eric turned to me and said, “Well, at least we know why she thinks we should say a Hail Mary before meals.” You know…because we’re asking Mary to pray for our dinners and all.
