This is definitely the time of year when many Catholic parents are scrambling around to help their children put together their First Communion banners.
I know this not only because of what time of year it is, but also because all but one of the top ten searches to reach my blog in the past month have been in reference to First Communion banners (plus then it shows up many more times on the total list of searches to come to my blog), all because of this post about First Communion banners.
Since our First Communion was so early at our parish, I thought I would post a picture of examples of some of the banners that were hanging in our church this weekend. Plus, there is a close up of Noah’s again.

My children and I relocated while my husband is in training in the army and at our temporary parish we were given a banner, a chalice and loaf of bread and were told that we could do anything we wanted but it had to have this and that and by today! Your posting really helped!

That has to be [parish name]! So weird because I was searching for banner ideas and belong to that very church.
It’s kind of distinctive, huh? Well, if you sit in it for an hour a week, right? LOL Yes, you’re right, that’s what it is. (I have had one other person from the parish find my blog and say, “Hey!” Except it was even funnier – because it was someone I knew. LOL)
But hey — isn’t First Communion this weekend? What are you doing still working on a banner?
If you knew me you’d understand, haha. I tell the Rel. Ed Director I always keep him guessing. Your website was helpful and I plan to have the banner done immediately,lol. My son is also excited to bake bread again this weekend…we did Nona’s bread for Easter and it was a big hit with the whole family!
Oh man — Nona’s Bread. Holy cow — I cry every time I see that cheesy movie. I have seen it twice now. I wonder if I’ll have a third time to see it. I think Carl might be gone from the position before my youngest does First Communion. (And who knows if anyone else will keep that movie. LOL But, it is very emotional.)

That movie must be a requirement from the Pope because I have seen it 3 times now and the first time was in PA with my oldest son! I cried each time too! I hadn’t planned on going to church but I may have to now just to meet you ( :

and by the way I really like your blog! I have been making lots of changes in my life, not just spiritually but trying to be a better Catholic parent (who turns in banners on time) and trying to treat the world better and greener. It seems like we may be on the same page on a lot of matters. And I have 5 kids too, well 4 and 1 on the way!
