I was once shown around an interior designer's house. Everything was so organised and beautiful. She even had her books arranged by colour on her shelves! Her vast array of clothes was arranged by colour too, in her enormous walk in robe. I picked up one tip which I have put into action: the designer had all her jewellery arranged in those large plastic boxes that have compartments, the ones crafters use to store beads etc. Just by lifting a lid she can find necklaces, bracelets etc quickly and match them up with her outfit of the day. I don't know if jewellery is part of a simplified wardrobe but this simple way of organising it , makes finding everything very simple.

I saw this on your side bar. It is funny because I'm always buying things that go with black, and I shouldn't go against it, because it works. This summer too, I found I have a trillion pair of khaki bottoms, but what doesn't look good with khaki, right? They are very flexible colors, and it makes life easier!
