Not Quite Red Hot Monogamy

in marriage,media

I saw the book Red Hot Monogamy at the library, and I decided to pick it up. Before I even had a chance to look at it, Eric was working on reading through it. (I suspect with the title, I shouldn’t have been surprised by that.)

I finally cracked it open and got about 15 pages into it. Really — I have to admit, it was a bit over the top to me. Even Eric commented that he thought it was too. (It seemed to both of us that it was suggesting intimate relations just about any time you could sneak away for them. Like…as often as possible.)

I joked to Eric and said something about our “red hot monogamy.” We both laughed. And, then, as an homage to my ranting to him several days before about the temperature of my hot chocolate from Starbucks, Eric declared that perhaps it was more like “tepid monogamy,” (which is what I had described said hot chocolate to be). I am blessed that when he said this, it was with a jovial tone, and not with scorn like it might have come from some men.

Well…at least he should look on the bright side. It least it isn’t blustery monogamy.
