Lenten meme

I was tagged in this Lenten meme (pretty serious meme for the first time I have ever been tagged!) by Rosemary at A Catholic Mother’s Thoughts. What is your favorite Sorrowful Mystery? I would have to say that the crucifixion is the most powerful of these to me, because…well…I mean, geez — it’s the crucifixion. [...]

"You’re looking very Catholic today."

Today was our fabulous annual Pampering Day at my MOPS group. (If you aren’t familiar with MOPS, it is a great organization that you can read about here – it’s for mothers of kids kindergarten and younger.) This day is always fun, and it allows for some time to visit a bit more with other [...]

Fun Word Cloud!

I saw this on Minnesota Mom’s blog and thought it was too cool! So, I went and made one based on my blog. Click here to go make your own! Here is mine:

Busy day in my head…

Just a heads up, I had a lot to say today. But, since it was three separate subjects, I made it into three separate postings. They are all below, and all written at the same time. Feel free to partake in my angst, as well as my joy.

Trying to choose my confirmation name

As long as I’m full of angst and indecision, why not bring it here again? Next week, we need to turn in our forms for confirmation. On it, we need to write our confirmation name. And, darn it — I’m torn. I started by researching saints. I narrowed the field to a few, and decided [...]

You mean people really feel done sometimes?

This is a concept that I have to admit is one that alludes me and always amazes me. It is hard for me to wrap my mind around that there are people who have a certain number of children and then can honestly and fully think, “We’re done. We have no desire for any more [...]

With the enthusiasm of a child…

Last night was pretty exciting. For RCIA, we had to go to Mass for Ash Wednesday before our meeting. I wasn’t sure if we would be going up for ashes or not, so after I asked our sponsors, we were told that yes, we were supposed to as well. This information made me check with [...]

Seems too indulgent for Ash Wednesday

We had a two hour delay from school today! I decided this felt like too much of an indulgence here on Ash Wednesday. But, the boys and I laid together in bed and watched some TV with our extra time anyway. I suppose, on the up side, at least we were spending some family time [...]

Reflections on Presidents’ Day

The boys were both very excited to fill me in on some of the things they learned today at school about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* “Abraham Lincoln was a boy. And, then do you know what happened? (pause) His mother died! He was sad. But then his Dad got married and he had [...]

So far, so good…

Just took this quiz online — so far, so good. Maybe by the time I am actually truly Catholic, I will be able to do even better! LOL You are a 88% traditional Catholic! Congratulations! You are more knowlegeable than most modern theologians! You have achieved mastery over the most important doctrines of the Catholic [...]
